Dr. Samuel J Hickman B.Sc. B.Dent. MS.Dent. Cert.Pros
Dr. Hickman's joining the practice introduces the groundwork for multidisciplinary care as prosthodontics focuses on the reconstruction and replacement of broken down and missing teeth. This type of care can involve the need for orthodontic intervention which can be done collaboratively in-house at our purpose built facility in Ottawa South.
Dr. Hickman is an adjunct assistant professor in the department of prosthodontics at the University of Minnesota's school of dentistry. He regularly holds lectures via video conference from the comfort of our office and has onsite hands-on clinical training sessions at the University of Minnesota every 6-8 weeks. Topics covered include treatment planning full arch cases, surgical implant placement, prosthesis design, and the management of failing restorations.
Dr. Hickman is an active member of the American College of Prosthodontics, the International Association of Gnathology, and the Academy of Osseointegration. He is also a member of the Association of Prosthodontists of Canada, The Australian Prosthodontic Society, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Ottawa Dental Society.
Outside of the office Dr. Hickman enjoys snowboarding, canoeing, and exploring all the many changes Ottawa has seen since he moved away for dental school.
